Mr Rockett - Sports Coach

At Mosborough Primary School, we are extremely fortunate to have Mr Rockett leading many of our PE lessons.

We hope you enjoy reading about his coaching of numerous sports, both here at school and in the local community.

Hi, my name is Mr Rockett.

I have been a sports coach for 11 years and have worked for SJD Sports coaching for the last 10 years, where I am now assistant manager.

I have been coaching PE at Mosborough for 4 years and absolutely love everything about the school.

I studied A-level PE at Wickersley Sixth Form and went on to complete my degree at Sheffield Hallam University, where I studied Sports Events Management.

I have gained coaching qualifications over numerous years in lots of different sports including: football, cricket, primary gymnastics, hockey and more.

At school, I deliver a wide variety of sports including: tag rugby, football, hockey and basketball.

For SJD Sports coaching, I also deliver numerous sports outside of Mosborough Primary School, including football and cricket.

I deliver football sessions to various groups of people in the local community and I also coach goalkeeper specific sessions, in small groups or as one to one sessions.

I am the lead coach of Killamarsh Cricket Club Under 9's and I am also in charge of the All Stars and Dynamos programme at Killamarsh Cricket Club.

If you want to see all the sessions I deliver in the community, you can find all of the information on the SJD Sports Coaching Facebook page.

I am really passionate about creating as many opportunities as possible, for all children and young people to be able to participate in as much sport as they possibly can.

I feel this plays a significant role in a child's development and it is also a great way to gain confidence and meet new friends.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching all sports - especially football and cricket. I am a season ticket holder at Rotherham United Football Club and am a huge Yorkshire County cricket club supporter.

I played football and cricket from the age of 6 and I still continue to play football whenever I can. Unfortunately, I stopped playing cricket after a bad shoulder injury a few years ago.

I enjoy playing golf in the summer and also love to go running and out mountain biking, whenever I can, to keep my fitness levels up as much as possible.
