Through Inspired Learning We Achieve Our Dreams

Redwood Class

....and breathe! A huge well done to everyone for a fantastic half term. We are very proud of you!

Spring term 2 was abundant in opportunities for Y6 Redwood to develop themselves as learners. From Biomass plants, to STEM workshops, to World Book Day door competitions, to meeting MP's,  the children's interest was sparked and their learning enriched. What a fantastic half-term.

Not only have we written about dragons, we have also been using them as inspiration for our sketches. Here are some examples of our work so far...

KS2 SATs meeting - Thursday 28th February 2019

Rounding off the half-term in Redwood style today, with an in-depth enquiry into our learning behaviours. We demonstrated in our discussion how willing we are to think, share ideas and build opinions. That's not to say we don't disagree, but when we do so we can be respectful of each other. A great quality to have - well done Redwood class❤️

Just one example of the many pic collages we put together in our groups to record our investigations into refraction. Who'd have thought water, glass and light could create magic!

Below are some of the light investigations we have carried out this half-term. Learning more about reflection and shadows has proved to be very illuminating!

Thinking about the evidence for climate change as part of our geography topic 'How does our world challenge us to change?'

January 8th 2019

A very safe beginning to the new year in Y6 with a trip to Crucial Crew. During a busy day full of essential experiences to  prepare for life beyond primary school, the children were certainly a credit to Mosborough. Polite, articulate and full of questions - it was clear everyone was engaged in the scenarios and activities they participated in and learned a huge amount.

Definitely a 5 star experience!

Our Year 6 'Wall of Truth' reflects the quality of thinking and learning which took place during the 'How can you tell truth from tale' topic. The children have developed many of the skills of a historian such as evaluating sources of evidence and considering viewpoint. They presented their conclusions with confidence. Well done year 6 - a great topic.

A busy autumn 2 half-term in Year 6 Redwood! Please have a look below at some of the learning that has taken place.

Today was our Farmers' Market fundraising event and saw Redwood Class become 'Redwood Signs for all occasions'. The children spent this week creating their signs with messages and we hope you will agree that they did a really great job.
